Vladimir Malkin - father of Pittsburgh Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin - offered up some candid comments on his son's NHL tenure this week, including the suggestion that another team was interested in his services.
In an interview with Russian sports website SovSport translated by Dmitry Chesnokov of Yahoo! Sports, the elder Malkin said that the Dallas Stars offered Evgeni more money than the Penguins this summer. - TSN.caHowever, Malkin wanted to stay long-term in Pittsburgh, and he signed an eight-year contract extension worth $76 million with the team in June earlier this year.
