Add the New York Knicks to the list of teams courting free agent Metta World Peace. According to Yahoo! Sports, World Peace is expected to meet with Knicks' executive in the next couple of days. The report, crediting sources, adds that the Knicks are offering a contract worth "almost $1.6 million for the 2013-14 season." The offer could also include a second year. In addition, the report says that the Knicks plan to give World Peace half of their $3.1 million taxpayer midlevel exception. "I like his skill sets a lot. I think a lot of teams have liked his skill sets over the years. He does a little bit of everything," coach Mike Woodson told ESPN.com." If anybody comes to this team, they've got to understand it's all about team, man. It's not about individuals here; it's not about me as a coach. It's about the New York franchise trying to win an NBA title. If you understand that, then we've got a chance." Metta World Peace is also reportedly interested in joining the Clippers, but according to FOX Sports Southwest there "has been no confirmation" as to whether the team is interested in him. World Peace spoke with his former Houston Rockets teammate, Yao Ming, about possibly joining Yao's Chinese Basketball Association team in Shanghai, according to Y! Sports' Marc Spears. Meanwhile, league sources told Yahoo! Sports that the New York Knicks "remain confident World Peace will stay in the NBA and sign with them."
