According to Seth Walder of the New York Daily News, Jets head coach Rex Ryan has stated that he likes their quarterback situation this year, more than the one in 2009 that featured Mark Sanchez as a rookie. “I like our quarterback situation much better than I did the first year I was here,” said Ryan. Ryan explained himself. “Obviously, he’s had his ups and downs and things but there’s a lot of positive things about what Mark’s accomplished, won four road playoff games,” said Ryan. “But this Geno Smith is really a talented young man.” Ryan should feel good about his quarterbacks because if Sanchez struggle this season–which we all expect–Ryan can bench him in favor of Geno Smith instead of Greg McElroy.   Need NFL Tickets? No butts about it, Jets are still the butt of jokes

The New York Jets are in prime position to take over the AFC East right? The New England Patriots have added alcoholics and assassins to their resume, the Buffalo Bills have added the Mr. Bill of QB’s in Kevin Kolb, and the Miami Dolphins overpaid yet again for overrated talent. Each year the Jets seem to go into the preseason with hype and a glimmer of hope. Previous years had...

Top 5 Fantasy Football Players for the New York Jets

For the most part, the New York Jets are a mess and most fantasy owners are not touching this team with a 10 foot pole. Frankly, who can blame them, the unproven and underperforming division rival Dolphins and Bills have more players with larger upsides on their rosters (not to mention less media turmoil to go through every week). The Tim Tebow experiment is over, I’m not sure...

Report: Mark Sanchez Has ‘Firm Grip’ on Jets Starting Quarterback Role As Geno Smith Struggled During Offseason

It looks like it will be another year of watching Mark Sanchez under center in the Meadowlands. Sanchez has a “firm grip” on the starting role at quarterback, according to Don Banks of Sports Illustrated. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News confirms Banks’ report, saying it’s unlikely rookie Geno Smith will be starting Week 1, but that he’ll get a chance to play if...

Rex Ryan has lost 120 pounds, weighs 230 pounds, 36-inch waist

We were impressed last May when Rex Ryan revealed he already lost 90 pounds since undergoing lap band surgery in March 2010. We’re even more impressed after learning that Ryan has dropped a total of 120 pounds since the surgery and is now looking pretty svelte. The New York Jets head coach spoke with the [...]

Jets’ Santonio Holmes has no timeframe for return

The New York Jets receiving corps is relatively young and inexperienced. This fact is only made more evident when you subtract Santonio Holmes from the equation. Unfortunately for the Jets, it appears they’ll have to do just that through the start of training camp, perhaps even into the start of the regular season, according to Seth Walder of The New York Daily News. At this...

Santonio Holmes To Miss Start Of Jets Training Camp

Jets' Santonio Holmes still has no timetable for return

When Santonio Holmes says he’s day to day, he’s not kidding. The Jets wide receiver, who missed a majority of last season with a foot injury, does not have a timetable for his return.
