Richard Pitino is not only excited to play against his father and former boss, the younger Pitino is also excited to see how his team stacks up against the No. 4 ranked Louisville Cardinals. “I’m looking forward to it,” Pitino told the media earlier this week. “I think it’ll be good for our guys to play in that type of environment, that type of talent level will show where our guys are. Our guys are just like any other kids — they think they can compete with the best.” The younger Pitino is as competitive as it gets and admits that he’s never had to root against his dad, which could make tonight’s atmosphere a little weird. “It’s going to be strange,” Richard Pitino said. “You try to make it about your team as much as possible.
