Seattle Seahawk cornerback Richard Sherman loves the spotlight. For a player who is just coming into his own, Sherman seemed to have ruffled the feathers of fellow cornerback Darrelle Revis, when he stated that he is the best cornerback in the National Football League. Revis' response when informed of this was, "You can't crown yourself as anything in this league. You've got to earn it." Here is a rundown of the career stats of the two and we would like for you to decide who is the better cornerback:Darrelle Revis: 241 tackles, 98 pass deflections, 19 interceptions and 3 touchdowns in 6 seasons.Richard Sherman: 100 tackles, 41 pass deflections, 12 interceptions and 1 touchdown in 2 seasons. Both guys are outstanding corners, however Revis only played two games last year after injuring his knee. Sherman, on the other hand, got popped for a banned substance and got his suspension thrown out on a technicality.Sherman has a tendency to talk a lot and there are a lot of players who just want him and the rest of the Seattle Seahawks to just shut up. Revis makes the point to say, "You don't crown yourself anything." Especially in the NFL when your career can end at a moment's notice. Richard Sherman wants to get recognized as being a great player and after two years he is well on his way.  If you are great, opposing players and coaches, as well as fans and media will recognize your greatness. The more you pound your chest and demand to be recognized, it irritates others and really sounds as though you do not respect other players who played before you.Greatness is not spoken, but it is earned on the field. It would be wise for Sherman to earn the mantle of the best cornerback, instead of crowning himself. In this debate, who are you with? Team Sherman or Revis Island?
