Rob Gronkowski threw out a lot of rhetoric on Wednesday afternoon as he met with the media in the locker room.
He talked about how he’s day to day, improving every day and progressing every week. The All-Pro tight end said he feels like he’s progressed since last week and that he feels “way closer than three weeks ago.”
Gronkowski would not confirm whether he will or will not play against the Buccaneers on Sunday, though. Gronkowski is recovering from back and forearm surgery. He was not able to work out as his back was recovering, so he’s been trying to back the bulk back on while getting back in game shape.
From seeing Gronkowski at practice, it appears he could be ready this week, but the team will obviously take their time with him and make sure he’s fully healthy before throwing him back on the field. The Patriots’ first early challenge comes in Week 4 against the Falcons. That has looked like his projected season debut all along.
