Bleacher Report:
Major League Baseball announced today on Roberto Clemente Day the names of the 30 Club nominees who are finalists for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award.
The award is given annually to the Major League Baseball Player who combines a dedication to giving back to the community with outstanding skills on the baseball field.
Today will mark the eight annual Roberto Clemente Day, which was established by the majors to honor Clemente’s legacy.
Among winners there are 13 members of the Hall of Fame and among nominees this year features 13 players selected for the 2009 All-Star Game.
