The Fighting Illini football team plays host to the Michigan Wolverines Saturday. Many see this as a rematch of the double overtime thriller in Ann Arbor last season. The Wolverines have much of their lineup back, and new coach Brady Hoke has them playing well. They have speed to burn and plenty of experience as both teams look to rebound from losses.

2011-12 Player Preview: Trey Burke

John Beilein might run a two guard offense originally designed to minimize the importance of a point guard but last season showed what a luxury a great point guard can be to any team. Darius Morris was the sort of guard that could make something out of nothing, manufacture a basket and made all of his teammates better. Trey Burke’s career trajectory was accelerated in June when...

Hoke believes Hemingway catch was a TD

ANN ARBOR, Mich. Asked Monday whether he feels he was robbed when a potential touchdown catch by Junior Hemingway was ruled incomplete in the final seconds Saturday, Michigan football coach Brady Hoke said, "I never carry much money with me, anyway. Mrs. Hoke doesn't give me any." At least Hoke hasn't lost his sense of humor the 24-16 heartbreaker at Iowa. Even...

Iowa's Radio Voice, Gary Dolphin, Has An Unfortunate Slip-Up During The Iowa/Michigan Game

Last Saturday's Big Tweleven Legends division clash between Iowa and Michigan came down to the last play of the game. As someone who has only watched a 20-second highlight clip of the game, in my opinion, the difference was Iowa's perceived non-politically correct pink locker rooms. Unfortunately, it's a non-PC gaffe by Iowa radio play-by-play man Gary Dolphin...

No. 22 Michigan tries to shake off Iowa loss

Brady Hoke is not changing his message, not now. The No. 22-ranked Wolverines are coming off a 24-16 loss at Iowa that hurt their chances of winning the Big Ten Leaders Division. No one in the program has lost hope, not with three games left to play and certainly not in the unpredictable Big Ten. ''I don't think anyone in here can tell you what's going to happen...

Al Borges seeks ways to improve Denard Robinson

Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges understands that Denard Robinson can be better than he has been. So after three straight games where Robinson hasn't shined -- rare for such a phenomenal athlete -- Borges is trying to help his quarterback rediscover some of the magic.

Fitzgerald Toussaint comfortable with increased carries

Michigan tailback Fitz Toussaint is the unquestioned starter at his position -- as long as he can stay healthy on the field. He said Monday his first-team reps have increased recently, and his 170-yard breakout game against Purdue was a function of study during the bye week and treatment on his injured shoulder.

Recruiting: Wolverines ink Pioneer RB Drake Johnson

Michigan fans have likely noticed the Wolverines' lack of quality running back options this fall. Vincent Smith and Fitzgerald Toussaint have put together solid years, but Stephen Hopkins has moved to fullback and Michael Shaw will graduate following the 2011 season.
