Colorado Rockies closer Rafael Betancourt was lifted from Tuesday night’s contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to a groin injury. He’s been shut down for the past two days, and he told Thomas Harding of MLB.com that he’s not sure how the ailment has responded since he hasn’t had a chance to test it. "I feel a little bit better, but I really can't tell you how much different I feel because I was off Wednesday and yesterday I was off and I tried not to do anything," said Betancourt, 10-for-10 on save opportunities and carrying a 1.56 ERA in 19 appearances. "I did some stretching, treatment and exercises. I feel kind of weird, but I think I can go through that. Hopefully, I'll be fine." Betancourt didn’t appear in last night’s contest, as it didn’t provide a save situation. Manager Walt Weiss wasn’t sure if the right-hander would be available prior to the game, but he was afforded the opportunity to push off a decision for at least one more night. Whatever the case, Weiss doesn’t believe Betancourt will require an extended stint on the disabled list as a result of the injury. Prior to exiting Tuesday’s game, Betancourt was a perfect 10-for-10 in save opportunities. If he isn’t deemed ready to return before the Rockies next save opportunity, Weiss indicated that he would go with late-inning reliever Rex Brothers as closer. Who Is Josh Rutledge?
