In a fairly rare move, the Colorado Rockies and reliever Matt Belisle have agreed to exercise the mutual option in Belisle’s contract for 2014 says MLB.com’s Thomas Harding. Belisle has 3.70 ERA in 326 games w/ Rox (2009-13). — Colorado Rockies (@Rockies) November 4, 2013 The agreement will pay the pitcher $4.25 million, and there is no word yet on a possible extension. This agreement will make Belisle the highest-paid reliever on the Rockies’ roster. He is also very durable, making at least 72 appearances in each of the past four seasons. He went 5-7, 4.32 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP in 73 innings in 2013. His only significant time missed to injury occurred in 2006 (64 games, low back strain) and 2008 (56 games, forearm soreness and knee surgery). Since then, he has stayed healthy.
