Rutgers University athletics has a big change on their hands. Head Coach of the Rutgers football program, Greg Schiano, has officially been hired to head to his first season as an NFL head coach. He will take over for Raheem Morris as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach. Morris was fired after leading the Bucs to a 4-12 season. Schiano is under a 5 year deal with the team. “We are thrilled to introduce Coach Schiano as the new head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer said in a statement. “During our thorough search, we met with numerous impressive candidates, but Coach Schiano surely distinguished himself. From his leadership skills to his impressive track record, he is, simply put, the right man for the job.” With Rutgers now head-coachless Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti has appointed offensive lineman coach Kyle Flood as the interim head coach.
