New York Jets coach Rex Ryan flip-flopped on Tim Tebow's possible role in Monday night's game against the Tennessee Titans. Ryan told reporters Friday that Tebow may serve as a personal protector on punts and might see action in the Wildcat formation on offense. Earlier in the week, Ryan said Tebow would not perform those functions. Ryan changed his mind after watching Tebow practice Friday. "I think I said he won't do personal protecting and all that stuff," Ryan said. "Well, he actually got a couple reps there, more mental things, but he moved around great. This is the best he's looked in several weeks. So we'll see about (what he'll do). There could be a chance that he does Wildcat. We'll see. He moved around that good that we may get him back in similar roles." Tebow has been recovering from fractured ribs. Ryan said Tebow has been cleared to play and has finally showed enough improvement to actually play a role in a game. ...

5 Replacements for Rex Ryan, Jets
The New York Jets may be on their way to making a playoff push but don’t be fooled. This season is by far the most frustrating and most disappointing of Rex Ryan’s tenure as Head Coach. After thirteen weeks of nailbiters and fumbles, it is clear New York is in need of a coaching change (to say the least).

Jets focusing on struggling Titans, not playoffs
Rex Ryan is taking nothing for granted, not the way this season has gone for the New York Jets.
The Jets still have hope that a favorable schedule will give them a chance at the playoffs even after a 3-6 start. Ryan, though, is taking it one game at a time, beginning with the woeful Tennessee Titans on Monday night.
''I know we have three games left in the regular season...
Jets Wildcat May Be In Play Monday As Rex Ryan Reverses Course
On Thursday, Jets coach Rex Ryan said Tim Tebow was healthy enough to be the backup quarterback, but not enough so to be the Wildcat quarterback or the teams personal punt protector. Just 24 hours later, the coach reversed that position, saying Tebow was more mobile in practice Thursday than had been expected, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports.
He moved around...

The Jets need change.. even with a chance still to make the playoffs
The New York Jets need change, and they need it now. — Rex Ryan can talk as much as he wants about change, but it doesn’t mean jack if his team can’t back his words up, right now the Jets are 6-7. While Yahoo! Sports.com may report that New York still has a chance, it’s not likely to happen, [...]
Making sense of Rex Ryan's backup quarterback quandary
Tim Tebow hasn't been healthy enough to see the field for a month, yet New York Jets coach Rex Ryan insists Tebow remains the No. 2 quarterback. Meanwhile, Greg McElroy, Gang Green's third-stringer, is the only quarterback not named Mark Sanchez to run New York's offense in a regular season game this year. The healthy and capable McElroy replaced Sanchez in the second...
New York Jets Defensive Film Breakdown: Week 14
Through a tumultuous up and down 2012 season, the New York Jets have experienced some all-time lows in the Rex Ryan era, this year.
