San Diego Chargers’ running back Ryan Mathews was due to have a huge year this season, but it will have to wait another week to begin.
After breaking his clavicle (collarbone) in the first preseason game this year, he’ll be missing the Chargers’ game against Oakland on Monday night according to U-T San Diego.
For those of you playing fantasy, Ronnie Brown might be an option for you if you’re desperate for a running back or flex starter this week. I’ve got MJD (who was one of my keepers), BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Donald Brown, and Ryan Williams. Green-Ellis and Brown are facing tough run defenses in Baltimore and Chicago, respectively, and MJD will be limited because of his absolutely necessary holdout for the same contract. So Brown is definitely in my sights.

The San Diego Chargers' window to win a championship is closing rapidly and Rivers' not playing at his best is only going to add to the fire. If Rivers continues to have this erratic play, then the Chargers will not succeed down the stretch.
Saturday made it six weeks since left tackle Jared Gaither suffered back spasms in the Chargers weight room.
Asked whether the possibility can be eliminated that Gaither's injury will lead to his placement on season-ending injured reserve, coach Norv Turner said that the option isn't something the team is considering at this time.

On November 27, 1960, the Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers played their first game in what would become one of the most heated football rivalries in NFL history. Since then the Raiders have moved twice and the Chargers moved to San Diego, but the hatred has always been there. These are the top Raiders/Chargers matchups that have the most significance in Raiders History.
The final game of the season opening weekend of the NFL will not be watched by a ton of people outside the west coast, unless of course you are addicted to watching every game possible.
Many questions both of these quarterbacks in this ball game since one was a former star (Palmer) and many are questioning if the other ever come close to be the same gun-slinger he once was (Rivers...
