Buffalo, NY - With the signing of Patrick Kaleta now out the way, the Buffalo Sabres have one more key player to lock down for the future, restricted free agent Tyler Ennis.
On Wednesday morning Sabres general manager Darcy Regier updated the current state of the negotiations with Ennis.
“We spoke with his agent yesterday,” said Regier. “I think that’ll continue today.”
Regier said that it’s always tough to judge whether you’re close to a deal or not until a contract is actually signed. ”
“You can feel close and not be close, or you can feel a long ways apart and be close,” he said. “The positive is, it’s moving in the right direction.”
Regier has previously stated that Ennis would not be getting a “long-term deal” with this next contract.

Decision making time is getting close for five-star guard Tyler Ennis. The five-star guard has narrowed his list to five schools and will announce his choice soon.
From the moment the Sabres season reached an all too abrupt end on April 7th in Boston, much has been made of their lack of what the fans and media consider to be a true number one center. Over the course of the off-season Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier has traded away the consensus top line pivot in Derek Roy, and Buffalo has been bandied about as a possible destination for...

Buffalo, NY – At the start of the offseason there were plenty of fans and media members who felt that Patrick Kaleta’s time with the organization was coming to end. However, as time went on it became more obvious that he was going to stick around.
Now, he’ll be here for at least a few more years as he signed a 3-year contract worth a reported $3.7-million...
Day #2 of Sabres in Focus - Tyler Myers
Entering his fourth season with the Sabres is standout defenseman Tyler Myers. He only played in 55 games last season, but put up eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points.
Myers is signed through 2019 and I would expect a bounce back year from him.
Myers' career best offensive numbers came during his rookie season, in which...

Day #3 of Sabres in Focus - Tyler Ennis
Although he is unsigned at this point, I'm confident the Sabres will ink him in the near future. That being said, here is what I expect from Ennis this season.
This one is a bit tougher to break down than the previous two I have written up. Tyler Ennis has played one full season for the Sabres (last year he played just 48 games)....

Buffalo, NY – Over the past few days there has been a lot of speculation that the Buffalo Sabres were one of the few teams scheduled to meet with veteran free agent Shane Doan.
This morning, Sabres general manager Darcy Regier put those rumors to rest, for now. “No, we have not met with him (Doan),” said Regier. “I don’t know whether we will...
Let's kick off this daily 'Sabres in Focus' with captain Jason Pominville.
Perhaps the only one who was consistent throughout the entire past season, Pominville has put up solid numbers during his career in Buffalo.
A former 2nd round pick (55th overall) in the 2001 draft, Pominville has played all 82 regular season games for the Sabres in five of the past six...
Here's a quick post for you as this is the only chance I've had all day to write.
Good to see that the Sabres have signed Patrick Kaleta to a multi-year contract. Some will argue that he doesn't contribute much to the team, but I like having a guy like him on the team.
His role has become a bit limited with penalties and suspensions, but he can easily be a physical...
