The story of the season so far for the Falcons has been injuries. Last week the Falcons lost two starters, Kroy Biermann and Bradie Ewing, for the entire season and also lost Steven Jackson and Sean Weatherspoon for multiple games. Now, it's Matt Ryan's safety blanket, Sam Baker, that will be out this weekend. Earlier this week Thomas Dimitroff talked about how Lamar Holmes can play both tackle spots and it looks like that's what we will see on Sunday. Most expect Holmes to play left tackle this weekend while recent signee Jeremy Trueblood takes over for Holmes at right tackle. The only real silver lining we have her is that if Baker sits he will get better quicker.

Falcons' LT Sam Baker to miss game at Miami

The Atlanta Falcons will be without left tackle Sam Baker in Sunday's game at Miami. Baker missed practice all week with foot and knee injuries and was listed as out on Friday's injury report. The Falcons have lost five starters to injuries this week. Defensive end Kroy Biermann (torn Achilles) and fullback Bradie Ewing (separated shoulder) are out for the season. Linebacker...

With Jackson out, Falcons' Snelling aims to help run game

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Hes a quiet, low-profile personality with a playing style to match, so its easy to overlook the fact that runningback Jason Snelling ranks among the longest-tenured members of the Atlanta Falcons. Snelling is in his seventh year in Atlanta, one of only five players who were drafted by the team before the arrival of general managerThomas Dimitroff and head coach...

Versatile Snelling set to help Falcons at RB, FB

There's a good reason Jason Snelling has stuck around for seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons despite starting only five games in that span. Snelling's value is his versatility, a strength which again became a key after the Falcons were hit with a rash of injuries this week. Fullback Bradie Ewing separated his left shoulder and was lost for the season. Running back Steven...

Injured Baker ruled out for Falcons-Fins on Sunday

The banged-up Falcons have ruled out left tackle Sam Baker (kneefoot problems) for Sunday's game at Miami, raising the number of Atlanta starters sidelined by injuries compared to last week to five. The Falcons also listed cornerback Asante Samuel (thigh) and wide receivers Roddy White (knee) and Julio Jones (knee) as questionable. Samuel was inactive for the season opener...

Julio Jones is Questionable

Atlanta wideout Julio Jones is listed as questionable, but is expected to play.Fantasy Spin:Jones went off for 11 catches and 182 yards receiving in the 31-24 Falcons victory. The highlight of the game had to be Julio's effortless 81-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. The 24-year-old's talent knows no bounds and a sore knee won't stop him.

Falcons in Tough Spot Against Dolphins

The Falcons mantra coming into the season was "Super Bowl or Bust". After a slew of injuries, the new mantra might be "survive and advance". Against the Dolphins, the Falcons will be without starters Sam Baker, Sean Weatherspoon, Bradie Ewing, Kroy Biermann and Steven Jackson. The Falcons also list Julio Jones, Roddy White, Asante Samuel and Cliff Matthews...

Roddy White Limited Friday

Hobbled Falcons receiver Roddy White was a limited participant in practice and is listed as questionable just as he was last week.Fantasy Spin:White won't be fantasy worthy until he is over his high-ankle sprain which is still a couple of weeks away. He'll be in uniform, but his five receptions for 40 yards over the first two weeks tells you all you need to know. Looks elsewhere...

Steven Jackson Will Likely Miss Three Weeks

According to Vaughn McClure of, it "looks like" Falcons running back Steven Jackson (thigh) will be out three weeks.Fantasy Spin:The Falcons have a bye in Week 6, so we might not see Jackson on the field again until Week 7. Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling will split playing time in his absence.

Church Takes 8 Figures To Move For New Falcons Stadium

((HT: It took $14.5-million and a 116-16 vote by the congregation, but it appears that the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church is taking the money and allowing the Falcons to move onto their space... Here's the explanation: Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed let this statement out and was positive towards Mt. Vernon Reverend Rodney Turner "I am pleased that the...

Falcons' Jerry set to battle younger brother in Miami

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Its not terribly uncommon in the NFL for brothers to compete against each other on opposite teams, but when it does happen as in last weeksManning Bowl so often it often seems the brothers happen to play on the same side of the ball. That also was the case in 2010 when Falcons defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux played against Seattle when his brother Jordan...
