A day after officially welcoming Maryland as member number thirteen the Big Ten gave their approval to add Rutgers University as member number fourteen on Tuesday. Unlike the Terps the Scarlet Knights entry date is yet to be determined based on negotiations with the Big East conference in the coming weeks and months.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers linebacker Khaseem Greene and Pittsburgh running back Ray Graham's sibling relationship is common knowledge in the Big East. The two matched up as stars in the past and are set to do so one last time on the college level Saturday at Heinz Field.
Rutgers won its third straight, holding on for an 81-79 win against Boston University to cap off an historic day for the Scarlet Knights' program. Elijah Carter scored 20 points, Malick Kone added 17 and afterward coach Mike Rice spoke about it.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- After the press conference announcing Rutgers was Big Ten bound, Scarlet Knights athletic director Tim Pernetti spoke with a few members of the media about the significance of the day.
