NFL Injury Report:
Seahawks have traded an undisclosed draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for defensive
tackle D’Anthony Smith, according to NFL.com's Dan Hanzus. Smith was a
third-round draft pick in 2010, but has mostly been a non-factor for a
struggling Jaguars franchise. After appearing in just eight games the past
three seasons, Smith departs Jacksonville with just ten tackles (six solo)
looking for a change of scenery and hopefully a change in production.
another of many exchanges between Seattle and Jacksonville, most of which have
taken place through the waiver wire and via free agency. With former Seahawks
defensive coordinator Gus Bradley being awarded the head coach job for the Jaguars
that much was to be expected.
for Smith is likely to be a late round conditional draft pick due to the very
recent injury history with the defensive tackle. After all, Smith has spent the
majority of his NFL career on Injured Reserve. However, he did manage to make it
through final cuts for a very competitive Seahawks team on a day full of disappointment
