University of Alabama football player Barrett Jones was named the male 2012-13 Southeastern Conference H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of the Year, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive announced on Friday.

Alabama CB Dee Milliner will allow NFL doctors to re-check him this weekend, according to the NFL Network's Albert Breer.
Milliner is expected to go early in the first roudn of the NFL Draft on April 25th, but the league wants to make sure he's cleared medically after he elected to have surgery after participating in the combine in February.

Remember DeAndrew White? The wide receiver from Houston who had proved as a prep star that he was not only good, but that he was fast? In Alabama’s fifth game of the season last year, White caught his eighth pass of the year on Bama’s first possession in what would be a 33-14 win over Ole Miss. On the next play he was injured.

Arkansas starter Ryne Stanek held the Alabama bats in check for eight innings and the No. 9-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks posted a 6-0 Southeastern Conference victory over the No. 22 ranked Crimson Tide on Friday night from Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The loss drops Alabama to 19-13 overall and 7-4 in the SEC, and Arkansas rises to 23-8 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
