There seems to be no middle ground when it comes to whether or not a baseball fan believes Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. Fans either adamantly say yes or forcefully argue no. Count Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as one fan who believes baseball's all-time hit king belongs in Cooperstown. In an interview with the Reno Gazette-Journal, the Nevada senator defended his position by proclaiming that Rose has been "punished enough" and that he deserves to be bestowed the sport's highest honor. "He bet when he was a manager of a team," Reid is quoted as saying about Rose. "Games were lost. All that stuff. But he's been punished enough. He is one of the great baseball players of all time. He didn't take drugs (PEDs) so yes, I think he should be in." Rose has certainly been pleading his case for reinstatement over recent years. However, his pleas seem to be falling on deaf ears in regards to the people who matter the most...

After I implied Jaws may have been asked to drop this weekend’s world gyoza eating contest to put over up-and-comer Matt Stonie in order to ignite a sense of rivalry not seen in MLE since Kobayashi parted ways, the 7x Coney champ (and 2007 HHR Athlete of the Year) emphatically denied doing the job - for money or otherwise. @HHReynolds I hope u r not suggesting I bet against myself...
