A similar comment got Fuzzy Zoeller in trouble following the 1997 Masters, when he quipped that fried chicken would be served at the following year’s champions’ dinner, which Woods would host as defending champion. According to media reports, Garcia left the European Tour awards dinner Tuesday night at the BMW PGA Championship in Virginia Water, England, before he could be questioned. He later issued a statement through the European Tour. “I apologize for any offense that may have been caused by my comment on stage during the European Tour Players’ Awards dinner,” Garcia said. “I answered a question that was clearly made towards me as a joke with a silly remark, but in no way was the comment meant in a racist manner.”     Sergio and Tiger has had negative opinions of each other for years now, but it wasn’t until a week and a half back when Sergio accused Tiger of purposely trying to distract him during his backswing.  It became clear through replay and everyone involved that Tiger was acquitted of all claims. That didn’t stop Sergio from bashing him at every opportunity.  Tiger has made his jabs more silent.  Simply stating that Sergio “was mistake,” “that he wasn’t surprised Sergio was crying about something,” and when questioned about whether he thought they’d make a truce, “no.”  Tiger is a man of few words.  He does his talking on the golf course.  Don’t like it?  Beat him.  That’s the thing, though.  Sergio can’t.  Sergio sticks to verbal warfare, and racial references.  What he needs to be doing is keeping to himself and sticking to working on the golf course.  Get some wins and majors under your belt, boy, before you go throwing 2-iron stingers Tiger’s way.  Everyone knows the stinger is Tiger’s best shot. Anyone who says, “I apologize for any offense that may have been caused by my comment,” isn’t taking responsibility for what they said.  They’re simply apologizing that you took it differently than what they meant.  That somehow the statement wasn’t wrong, but how he worded it was.  Its basically saying, “I’m sorry you were offended.”  And that somehow joking about fried chicken towards a black man, who you don’t care for, isn’t racist.  Its 100% racist.  I’m not saying I didn’t chuckle when I heard it, I’m just saying you meant it how you said it- racist.
