Tuesday night marked a first in Bruins history. For the first time in the franchise's established history, both teams involved were awarded penalty shots. Tuukka Rask turned away Chris Thorburn's penalty shot in the first period before Shawn Thornton came streaking out of the penalty box in the second period before being hooked from behind on a breakaway.
