Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been cleared for contact, a big step toward his return from concussion-like symptoms. Crosby went through drills with his teammates on Tuesday, the first time he's been a full participant in practice since the symptoms returned after a loss to Boston on Dec. 5. The 24-year-old Crosby says he will play at the moment he is symptom free, but there remains no timetable for his return. The Penguins continue a four-game homestand on Wednesday against Toronto. Crosby missed more than 10 months following a pair of hits to the head in January 2011. He had two goals in his season debut against the New York Islanders, his only goals in the last 14 months.

Penguins May Have Decisions To Make At Trade Deadline

from Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The NHL trade deadline is nine days away, and there are less than six weeks in the Penguins’ regular season after that. Should the Pens battle for the division or get healthy?

As I looked over the NHL standing this morning I started to wonder what the odds were that the Penguins could catch the Rangers to win the Atlantic Division.  They are behind by 10 points with roughly 25 games to go in the regular season and still have 3 to play against the Rangers.  It seems like it could be possible with how the team has played over the last few weeks, so I...

Oh, Good. Questionable Hockey Bobble Heads That're Mass Marketed

Sure, this is just what I wanted to see at a toy show: Wow, really? I have to wait until fall for these? Damn. Two questions: 1) by top stars, do they mean those only on select teams (TOR, PIT, WSH, CHI, BOS, PHI, and probably DET) and 2) do the players themselves have the ability to sign off of them? I can see Sidney Crosby signing off on his -- it's all concentrate-y and...
