Pro Sports Daily:
Panthers left guard Amini Silatolu is a man of few words and didn’t offer many Monday when talking about his injured right hamstring.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera was decidedly more optimistic about Silatolu’s status for Sunday’s opener against Seattle than he was last week when he indicated Silatolu likely would be out.
“I don’t feel that way anymore especially after seeing him (Monday)” Rivera said. “A lot depends on if he comes back (Tuesday) and he’s tender and his lower back is sore then you’ll know the hamstring is still bothering him.”
Silatolu who started 15 games last season as a rookie said he did only individual work Monday and did not participate in team drills. He was injured against Baltimore two weeks ago and missed last week’s exhibition finale against Pittsburgh.
If Silatolu doesn’t play against the Seahawks Rivera said it would be “left guard by committee” with recently acquired Travelle Wharton and Chris Scott sharing reps.

That’s not very nice now is it? A couple of Panthers fans just wanted a pic of Jimmy Clausen’s lady and she had to go and make an obscene gesture. Hey, you want to date a below-average NFL quarterback, you have to be able to deal with all the pub and criticism.
With that said, I respect a girl who sticks up for her man. Great job by Mr. Jordan for documenting the whole...

Every week in the NFL beat writers for every team are included in a conference call with the opposing team’s coach and one of their players. The Carolina Panthers play the Seattle Seahawks opening weekend, and veteran wide receiver Steve Smith was the Panther selected to answer questions from the Seattle media. Some of his remarks didn’t paint a friendly picture of new Browns...
Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera still hasn't decided who'll start at cornerback Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks in the season opener.
The only thing that's guaranteed is it will be a young, inexperienced player.
Carolina's cornerback position was thrown into a state of flux Saturday when the team abruptly released veteran Drayton Florence, who'd been...
Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves
By now you have heard many times that the Seahawks are quite a common pick to represent the NFC in the Superbowl. The Seattle Seahawks have truly become the NFC darlings of many so-called NFL experts.
While I remain ever optimistic about the first Lombardi trophy coming to the Emerald City, one indisputable fact can’t get out of my head...
The Carolina Panthers made an upgrade at safety Monday signing free agent Quintin Mikell to a one-year deal.

Seahawks Begin Super Bowl Quest
For Seattle Seahawks fans the wait has been excruciating – but fear not the 2013 NFL season kicks off Sunday, on the road, playing in the dreaded 1 PM Eastern Time slot.
