dallasnews.com:
Drew Gooden, under fire for allegedly saying a homophobic remark at a Los Angeles Clippers fan, was not the person who uttered the comments, according to a Mavericks' source.
The comments in question came from somebody who was with Gooden, the source said.
Gooden was at the Mavericks' shootaround this morning, but did not comment to media members. A team staff member said he possibly would talk before tonight's game against Utah.
Gooden was in the middle of a report by Outsports.com that he used a homophobic slur when talking about a couple of Clipper fans seated near the Mavericks bench.
On the website, owner Mark Cuban is quoted as saying that heckling from fans near the Mavericks bench Saturday night crossed the line in some cases and that he would deal with Gooden and this issue internally.
