The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 of the 2013 season at Wembley Stadium, but their trip to London will be a short one. Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports on Sunday that the Steelers will hold their standard practices during the week in Pittsburgh before taking a team charter to London Thursday evening and practicing there on Friday. This is the same itinerary that previous teams have used when they were scheduled to play in London since 2007, when NFL teams started playing games on a regular basis in the United Kingdom. Steelers LB Jason Worilds Chomping At The Bit To Prove He Can Replace James Harrison

When the Pittsburgh Steelers released linebacker James Harrison over a week ago, it left a void on the right side of the defense that fourth-year linebacker Jason Worilds will be asked to fill in 2013. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who is currently in Arizona for the annual NFL owners' meetings, commented Sunday on the opportunity that awaits the 2010 second-round draft pick...

Sanders let his fans know that the Patriots are interested in him and that it's just that at this point. "I have NOT been offered anything," Sanders writes....

Steelers Interested In Long And Dummervil? Really?

Over the last few days the Pittsburgh Steelers have been reported as having interest in former Denver Broncos defensive end/outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil and current St. Louis Rams tackle Jake Long. While these reports certainly get the Steelers fan base excited, you have to wonder how much water that these reports hold. Face it, the Steelers are working with very limited cap...

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert says he hasn’t received an offer sheet for Emmanuel Sanders

According to Josh Alper of Profootballtalk.com, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert hasn’t received an offer sheet from the New England Patriots. Reports are receiver Emmanuel Sander had signed an offer sheet from the Patriots; however, Colbert says no contract has surfaced. The Steelers must receive the offer in order to match the offer or work out the compensation...

Steelers reportedly made a run at Jake Long

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers tried to make a move to land left tackle Jake Long before he ended up signing with the Rams. I’m not sure where the Steelers would get the money to pay Long, since they’re only roughly $3 million over the cap right now.  But it was a great idea.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script...

Steelers sign TE Matt Spaeth

Matt Spaeth is coming back to Pittsburgh. The Steelers signed the free agent tight end on Monday, reuniting Spaeth with the club that selected him in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. The 29-year-old Spaeth spent his first four seasons with the Steelers before moving on to Chicago, where he caught just 13 passes for 78 yards and three touchdowns in 31 games. Pittsburgh needs...

The picks is the 38th in the sixth round and the 206th overall. Even though the Steelers...

Tunstall: Pittsburgh Steelers Brass Say this is Not a Team in Transition; Any Takers on that Bet?

By Clarence Tunstall One could consider it a lack of foresight to lose so many players and not seem to have any plan or ability to keep them and expect to turn an 8-8 team into a winner. It sounds more like a team completely twisted up in the barbed wire that is the NFL salary cap with no escape or hope for immediate success in the near future. Fans like me were frustrated as the...

Report: Steelers Have No Plans To Bring In Free Agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Sunday that the Pittsburgh Steelers have interest in former New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, however, reports on Monday via Twitter that the Steelers have no plans right now to bring in Bradshaw, per a team source of his. As I pointed out in my previous post about Bradshaw, he has several medical...

The Ravens and Steelers compete at least twice a season as division rivals during the NFL regular season, and now according to reports, they’ll be competing for the top pass rusher on the open market also. Because of a paperwork and fax issue, Elvis Dumervil is now a free agent.  Multiple reports from the Baltimore Sun are indicating that the Steelers have joined the Ravens...

Emmanuel Sanders reportedly left New England without an offer sheet

It was reported that the New England Patriots signed Steelers’ restricted free agent Emmanuel Sanders to an offer sheet.  Now that doesn’t seem to be the case. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Patriots haven’t signed Sanders to an offer sheet. Even though nothing has happened yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sanders some how lands in New England.   Need...
