Found May 08, 2013 on Celtics Life:
A couple days ago now, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith threw this out there. He said that he was hearing in "NBA circles" (pictured above) that the Celtics and Clippers were talking about swapping DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers. Obviously, that will never happen. The Celtics probably aren't going to be trading their coach, and the Clippers wouldn't give up so many young assets for some players who could be retiring soon. Rightfully so, Smith started taking a ton of heat the last couple of days. Especially in Boston. We went into a little bit in our CelticsLife Requiem show last night. Smith appeared on Boston sports radio station WEEI this morning to defend his report and maybe regain some credibility. Instead he seems to have dug himself into a bigger hole. Is Stephen A. just throwing [expletive] against the wall? Tells @weei a credible source called him to share Blake-to-Celtics possibility.— Ben ...

Your Morning Dump…where Lee deserves one more chance

”I wasn’t playing like my normal self,” admitted Lee. “Roles changed a little bit, they wanted me to focus more on being a defensive player and spot-up shooter. I have a whole summer to get involved in doing a lot of spot-up shots, and working on my role, what it is going to be next year and whatnot. I’ll be prepared for that, a lot better than I was this year.” ESPN...

What the Hell Happened to...Erick Strickland?

He was a tough lefty-combo guard who was the master of taking charges.  In 2002 the Celtics were 4-0 with him as the starting point guard when Kenny Anderson got injured.  I for one was crushed when he left Boston after his one season.  If you remember the Cinderella Celtics of 2002, you absolutely remember Erick Strickland. A former Nebraska Cornhusker (and a tremendous...

Celtics rumors: Kevin Garnett mulling retirement?

Last season, Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he was positive Kevin Garnett was coming back for another year. Now, with rumors circulating that the big man could be mulling retirement, the coach isn’t sure, according to Jackie MacMullan of ESPN Boston."I have no clue," Doc admitted. "I was positive last year [he was coming back]. I'm not as sure this year...

Opinion: Al Jefferson-Celtics reunion would be ideal

Ronald Martinez/ Getty Images BOSTON—I want # 7 back. No, not Trot Nixon or J.D. Drew but “Big Al” Jefferson. He has not donned a Celtic Green uniform since the end of the 2007 season. In case you forgot, he was part of the blockbuster Kevin Garnett deal that helped the Celtics win Banner 18, one that up until that juncture, had been eluding them for 18 seasons.  He began...

Doc Rivers returning to the Boston Celtics?

Doc Rivers has three years left on his current contract with the Boston Celtics, but following the team’s first-round ouster in the 2013 NBA playoffs, it appears he’s uncertain about his future. When asked if he would be back in Boston for the 2013-14 season Rivers said, “I don’t know.” That’s not a good sign for the Celtics, who continue to get older and need the force...

Celtics Have Many Questions in Summer

Paul Pierce (left) and Kevin Garnett (right) may have played their last game in a Celtics uniform.   As the Boston Celtics head into the off-season, they have many questions to answer. The first is whether they should retain captain Paul Pierce? Pierce could make $15.3 million this season unless the Celtics buy out Pierce for $5 million. If the Celtics choose to buy out Pierce,...

Suns Hire Ryan McDonough, Key in Celtics’ Player Evaluation for Last Decade, as General Manager

From Rajon Rondo and Glen Davis to Avery Bradley and Jared Sullinger, the Celtics had a key player behind the scenes aiding their player evaluation efforts. That man, Ryan McDonough, will no longer be working toward bringing an 18th championship banner to Boston. The 33-year-old was named general manager of the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, making the Hingham, Mass., native one of the...

Danny Ainge: Stephen A. Comments "Silly"

Stephen A. Smith ignited Twitter when he spoke on First Take recently of a proposed trade that would send Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce,  to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Blake Griffin, Eric Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan, and Caron Butler. Many thought that Stephen A.'s "inside information" was absolutely insane, with Celtics' GM Danny Ainge being one of them...

No Lakers or Celtics in the Second Round?

First time since 2007 that there isn't a Boston Celtics' or Los Angeles Lakers' team in the second round of the NBA playoffs. These two teams make up 33 NBA titles out of 67 NBA championships (almost half). Seriously, I hate the Lakers so I am happy they aren't in it. A lot of our readers and fans out there thought the Spurs and Lakers series was going to be entertaining...

Rumor: Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers Discussing Blockbuster?

.wil4{position:absolute;clip:rect(407px,auto,auto,486px);}secured payday loans online I stumbled across this rumor and as I read it my reaction was um no. So here is the article that I am refering to on Yahoo. Following early playoff exits for both teams, reports are now surfacing that the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics may be discussing a blockbuster deal. In the rumored...

Photo: Ticket and Truth

As most of you know, I frequent quite a few Celtics fan sites in search of cool stuff. Weibo, China’s version of Twitter, is one of my favorites. Tonight, I came across this cool collage of KG & Truth. I’m also in the process of putting together a gallery of the 2012-13 season’s most memorable moments. Look for that soon..

2013 NBA Draft: Who could be the next "big" thing for Boston?

Now that the 2012-2013 season is over for the Celtics, it's time to start thinking about the draft. This year's crop of college players is nothing to write home about, but there are some who could be decent role players for years to come. Boston needs size and a guard who can handle the ball. Luckily, there are plenty of players like that to choose from. Here are some big...

Stephen A. Smith "reports" Griffin & Bledsoe for Pierce, KG, & Doc trade being discussed

RealGM Stephen A. Smith of ESPN reports that the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics could execute a trade of Blake Griffin, Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Smith also reports that Doc Rivers could go with Pierce and Garnett to the Clippers. "It is already being talked about in NBA circles," said Smith. Smith wouldn't answer...

4 reasons Stephen A Smith's "blockbuster trade" makes sense

When I've first heard of the trade that Smith suggested as "already being talked about in NBA circles," my immediate reaction was to spurt the coffee I was drinking at that moment all over my laptop. That didn't happen because it was instant coffee and it tasted like mud but because Smith's proposal -or the proposal he heard of in NBA circles- was just ridiculous...

Stephen A. Smith Isn’t Impressed With Teddy Bridgewater

Earlier today on ESPN’s First Take, the crew got into a round-table discussion about the top quarterback in college football next season. The conversation was basically started around Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, being ranked behind Teddy Bridgewater on Mel Kiper’s Big Board. For whatever reason, the folks at ESPN thought it would be...
