The California State Athletic Commission has released the official salaries for all of the contestants that competed in last Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal” event. Lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez earned a flat $150,000 paycheck for his unanimous decision victory over Jorge Masvidal in the night’s featured attraction. Masvial, on the other hand, took home $23k for his efforts. Despite being the card’s third-to-last fight, Gegard Mousasi also scored $150,000 for his win over Ovince St. Preux. Just in case you were wondering, UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar only made $102,000 (including $51,000 win bonus) for his UFC 125 scrap with Gray Maynard. Courtesy of the spectacular show they put on, company president Dana White reward both fighters with their win bonuses despite fighting to a draw.
