ESPN’s Stuart Scott took to Twitter with some heartbreaking news on Monday night, informing his followers that his cancer has returned:

Scott was first diagnosed with cancer back in 2007 after an emergency appendectomy revealed a malignancy that was treated with chemotherapy, then received chemotherapy again in 2011 after more cancerous tissue was found.

As indicated in his revealing tweet, Scott still plans to work for ESPN while receiving chemo and the network says they plan on working around his treatments. After tweeting out the news, Scott went on to co-anchor the 11:00 P.M. SportsCenter show.

  • The high incident of cancer among TV announcers is because of the high and continual exposure to ambient EMFs. For obvious reasons many involved parties do not want to go there.

  • I was dignosed in 2010, surgery and 6 months of chemo.....reaccured 2012 surgery and 6 months of chemo. I had my last chemo a week ago....I'm so happy to hear your attitude. That makes the difference. Go to work and when your feeling bad....tell yourself...I can indure....and when you can't take a rest. Your poor body is doing all the fighting.
    (Picked the right guy cuz I HIT HARD all day long!!)right attitude!!!

  • Hang in there steelfish46, it will be over. I had to do chemo every 3 weeks for 1 1/2 years and work full-time. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, 5 years so far, clean.

  • My prayers are with you.Chemo again? IT DOES NOT WORK only slows down C cells and the medical world knows this. If you want to arm yourself to fight and beat C, educate yourself away from the mainstream CUT,POISON & BAKE. Think about it treatment that makes you sick,lose hair, and kills good along with bad cells,along with damaging other vital organs is suppose to be good? You need those good cells and the rest of your body to win. a Great read is"Cancer Step Outside the Box" read the 1st 100 pages and if it does not make sense or help you throw it out. Since you have had Chemo educate yourself to REALLY build your immune system back. God Bless You

There is no a single night in which I go to bed without watching ESPN at night and see what's going on. You live your work with passion, enthusiasm and you transmit that to everyone watching ESPN.   • I am 59 years old and have been a sports fan all my life. I have listened to sports for most of 20 years when listing to my car radio. One topic people always talk about is who they like and don’t like as far as sports; players, coaches, announcers and pretty much anyone in the public eye. It is not uncommon for dislikes to lead the way in conversation!!! I can honestly say I have NEVER heard anything except how much people like and respect Stuart Scott!!!! The sports world loves you Stuart Scott and you are defiantly “cttosop” Cooler Than The Other Side Of The Pillow!!!! Be clear not as cool but cooler than the other side!

It also exacts a toll on families of the stricken. I hope and pray for cure for his sake and millions of other victims of this terrible disease.
