More Than Stats:
Fresh off the Vanity Fair 2013 International Best-Dressed list, NY Rangers goaltender, Henrik Lundqvist went to twitter where he shared a preview of his upcoming feature with MrPorter. com. Henrik looked really dapper clothed in a plaid pattern Valentino fall 2013 menswear suit, as he sat in a elegant room which made a perfect complement his classy threads. It’s not easy pulling off a full plaid suit, but a stylish gentlemen like Henrik makes it look so effortless. Are you a fan of the look?

A blog post has been making its way around Rangersland lately about whether the Flames should pursue Marc Staal.
While on the surface, it seems like an absolutely ridiculous premise, especially when the author wonders if the Flames can "grab him for pennies on the dollar." But is it really that far fetched?
Flames Nation points to Staal as a potential target because...
A Prust/Avery matchup next round would be interesting.
As the offseason wears on, us and Matt Josephs of Blue Line Station (Twitter: 11Matt_Josephs8) will be running a tournament for the Best Ranger since the 2005 lockout. Yesterday we saw #5 Brandon Prust record the tournament’s first shutout over #12 Nik Antropov. Today’s matchup is #4 Sean Avery vs. #13 Petr Sykora:
Sykora joined Kreider as the double-digit upset winner.

The New York Post's Larry Brooks duly notes that perhaps the biggest signings of the summer of 2013 have in fact involved teams locking up the unrestricted free agent class of 2014, and as such, Brooks urges the New York Rangers to start ponying up to retain their core:
The potential free agent class of 2014 is being whittled down one by one — a Joe Pavelski here, a Jay...
The potential free agent class of 2014 is being whittled down one by one — a Joe Pavelski here a Jay Bouwmeester there contract extensions for essential players everywhere.
Except in New York where the Rangers have been curiously reluctant to engage in negotiations with Henrik Lundqvist Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi all of whom can go free (alternate meaning) next summer.

Fourteen trades down, one to go. I managed to pawn off the overrated Michael Del Zotto on Richard Cloutier last round, paving the way for Marc Staal's extension. In fairness, the deal made sense for Edmonton, too: the Oilers need a puck-mover, and MDZ does provide as much.
The second completed deal: Dallas sent Brenden Dillon and...
In this morning's NY Post, Larry Brooks opines over soon to be un-restricted free agents Henrik Lundqivst, Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi. In it, he states that negotiations with all three players and their agents have yet to begin, despite the recent news of contract extensions elsewhere around the league (Joe Pavelski, Jay Bouwmeester, etc.)
Regarding Lundqvist, Brooks...
