GORGEOUS SKIES and nearly 11,000 fans welcomed Mike Leach and his Washington State Cougars to Spokane today for the Crimson & Gray Game. The bright spots were numerous. Jeff Tuel completed 19 of 21 passes for 285 yards and two TDs -- including an 84 yarder to Marquess Wilson to launch the proceedings -- despite consistent pressure from a defense that exploited a banged up offensive line.

ADD COWBOY BOOTS to the list of non-football topics that Mike Leach has a strong opinion about. When Cougfan.com’s newest correspondent, Adam Lewis, asked offensive line coach Clay McGuire on Thursday if the Cougar staff had veered into any off-beat conversations of late, McGuire didn’t hesitate.

Happy Friday Cougs, and welcome to Spring Game Eve.  Finally we get to see some form of Mike Leach, Pirate-style football action tomorrow - in person, no less.  Yes, it's "Cougar on Cougar" violence, which is always a little weird, yet should be extremely interesting.  But like we've said before, scrimmage "games" like this are always a little strange...
