Not seeing a lot of minutes this season, you'd think Matt Bonner wouldn't be talked about too much this year. The San Antonio Spurs' newfound depth with an emerging Tiago Splitter starting next to Tim Duncan and an occasional dose of small ball with Stephen Jackson has forced Bonner to see limited minutes this year at 11.1mpg. He's been known as a three point specialist in the regular season and his fans have been disappointed at his incredible shooting in past years and having the league shun him on being given the opportunity to participate in the three point contest during All-Star Weekend. With the help of the internet and Twitter, his supporters have taken the campaign to new heights. The campaign not only features a unique hashtag "#LetBonnerShoot", but Matt's brother, Luke Bonner, is even taking the campaign to television. This is what Luke tweeted on Tuesday. Catch me on NBAtv this afternoon at some point between 2:30-3:00pm EST talking #LetBonnerShoot (@LukeyBonner) This is a credit to the Red Rocket's popularity and how the community of San Antonio views him. He might not be the best player on the court, but you can't deny he plays hard when he's out there and the fans see that. Some may question that Bonner's mechanics and untraditional  technique for shooting isn't primed for the event, but it seems his supporters just want to see Bonner given a pat on the back for something he's good at during the season. The Spurs don't get much recognition through the media and this certainly helps the Spurs leave their mark on an event that might not see a player on the team play as a reserve for the All-Star Game. Bonner's outgoing attitude helps the cause to get San Antonio's name out there and his fans are showing their appreciation for him.
