This season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to improve on a 4-12 record from 2011. This article looks at highs and lows of Tampa Bay’s 2012 schedule. The first two weeks of the regular season are not going to be easy for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 1, Tampa Bay will match up against division rival Carolina Panthers, who beat Tampa Bay by a combined score of 86-35 in two meetings last season. In Week 2, Tampa Bay will travel to New York to take on the defending champion Giants. Depending on how much Tampa Bay has improved last season, weeks three through six should be easier to handle, as the team will play at Dallas, then play Washington at home, then have a bye week before taking on Kansas City at home. In Week 7 Tampa Bay will face division rival the New Orleans Saints, which should be an interesting match-up of teams that are vastly different then they were in 2011. Weeks 8-10 will see Tampa Bay play at Minnesota, at Oakland and back home to take on the San Diego Charge...

Draft Winners: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers draft was a little top heavy due to trades, but they came away with three players who will start from day one and immediately turn them into legitimate playoff contenders. Martin will be among the game's most dangerous backs even as a rookie. Mark Barron, Doug Martin and Lavonte David are each among the most NFL-ready prospects at their positions. And...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Mark Barron, Grade A

I love everything about this for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Yes, Morris Claiborne is a better prospect than Mark Barron. And yes, cornerback is a more glaring need. However, strong safety is a significant issue as well (he’ll replace Larry Asante) and they picked up extra picks in the process. This is a slight reach for Barron, which is why I give it an A rather than A+, but if...

Season Recap: The Bucs were expected to be a very competitive team in 2011, but failed to meet expectations. Tampa Bay Buccanneers Draft Mark Barron

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft Mark Barron: Better Off Sometimes things just don't go your way... Then again, sometimes that is a good thing. The Buccaneers wanted Claiborne. They were having dreams of shutting down one side of the field and having people talk about their wonderful cornerback. Then those dreams were washed away when Dallas made a dramatic trade, moving up eight...

Buccaneers Draft Begins After #5

Richardson or Claiborne, .. both guys will make plays in the NFL   The Buccaneers hold the #5 draft pick in tonight’s and a lot has been said about who they will pick, will it be Trent Richardson or Morris Claiborne? According to most draft “experts”, and I use that term lightly the majority say that Claiborne will be the Buc’s guy at 5 but we all know that can change. The...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Doug Martin, Grade A+

I typically don’t like to see rebuilding teams trade up, but this was a great move by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Doug Martin is one of the most underrated prospects in this draft class, and I fully expect him to be a difference maker from the day he sets foot on the field. Martin is no Trent Richardson, but he’s still one of the most well-rounded running backs to enter the draft...

Bucs draft TE Drake Dunsmore in 7th round

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Northwestern tight end Drake Dunsmore with the second of two picks the team had in the seventh round of the NFL draft. Dunsmore was the second offensive player selected by the Bucs in the final round on Saturday. Utah State running back Michael Smith was the 212th pick overall, while Dunsmore was No. 233. Dunsmore had 45 receptions for 522...

Jim Brown: Trent Richardson is “ordinary”

Former Cleveland Browns great Jim Brown made an appearance on ESPN radio, per ProFootballTalk.com today and said that he doesn’t believe Alabama running back Trent Richardson will make a big impact for the Browns if they end taking him with the 4th overall pick. “I’m not overwhelmed with it,” said Brown with regards to the idea of taking Richardson. “The problem is that...

2012 NFL Draft Breakdown-Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The 2012 NFL Draft is in the books and as the dust settles, let’s take a look at NFL teams around the league and how they fared over the past three days. I think it’s useless to hand out draft grades before these players even hit the field and it will be several seasons to determine exactly how these draft selections will work out. However, we can review the NFL Draft and if...

Will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade up in order to acquire RB Trent Richardson?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2012 Mock Draft: 7-Round Predictions

If you paid attention to the Bucs in 2011 there were a few hints of this team potentially becoming a contender in the near future. If you have been paying attention to the Bucs and their free agency moves the past couple of months, there is even more reason to believe they could in fact be a postseason contending team, as early as the 2012 NFL season—especially if they have a...
