While the ownership group may be in disarray, the Tampa Bay Lightning continue to make moves to improve on the ice as according to news reports out of Canada, they have aquired free agent left winger Alex Tanguay. The report came out of RDS, citing sources close to negotiations that the deal is done pending a physical. Tanguay is one of the top scoring forwards in the NHL. He was acquired by the Montreal Canadians last season for a 1st and 2nd round draft pick. Unfortunately, Tanguay had an injury riddled season that caused him to miss 28 games. He finished with 16 goals and 41 points. When healthy Tanguay can be a point-a-game scorer averaging 25 goals and 80 points a season. His addition adds to the scoring of Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos and Ryan Malone. While the Lightning have focused on rebuilding their awful defense this off-season, there was still a need for secondary scoring. Tanguay certainly fits the bill. According to a report on TSN, Tanguay agreed to come to the Lightning after speaking with Lecavalier and St. Louis about the team's situation.
