Tauscher will make $700,000 in base salary

The one-year contract tackle Mark Tauscher signed with the Packers on Monday will pay him $700,000 in base salary if he remains on the roster for the final 12 games of the season.That's more than the roughly $525,000 he would have made had he signed for the veteran minimum of $745,000 and been paid only the prorated portion for the rest of the season.Tauscher's base salary for this season technically is $991,667, according to NFLPA salary data. He'll be paid 12/17 of that, which comes to almost precisely $700,000.
