J.J. ‘Swatt’ on offense? Apparently being the 2012 NFL Defensive Player of the Year wasn’t enough for Texans’ J.J. Watt. Known as J.J. ‘Swatt’ for his ball-batting expertise, Watt played the tight end position at Central Michigan before he moved to defense at Wisconsin.  Since going pro for Houston, he has been vocal about wanting to play a role on offense in red-zone scenarios. “Whatever I can do to help the team win, I will do,”  Watt told ESPN.  ”I’ve been lobbying since Day 1.  It hasn’t worked yet, so I don’t think it’s going to work anytime soon but it’s his (Gary Kubiak) team.  It’s just about being an athlete.  I have fun, catching balls is fun, just doing whatever you can to be an athlete, working on hand-eye coordination, and the little things.  It never hurts to be able to catch a football.” If you didn’t catch it, there was actually a snap within the Pro Bowl that Watt was lined up as a receiver.  Kubiak wasn’t too fond of it though. “No, I didn’t like that personally,”  Texans coach Gary Kubiak said.  ”When I saw he was going to line up out there, that scared me a little bit.  We’ll let him keep getting after the quarterback and maybe we’ll find him a play or two of offense down the road.” Apparently this isn’t news to Kubiak has it has been discussed previously to moving Watt to the offense. “No, we’ve talked about it actually,”  said Kubiak.  ”I don’t know what part of the Wisconsin package he would play, but we’ll see.” If the Texans ever did become thin on offense, I feel Watt could play a role with those enormous Micky Mouse mitts.  Surely they could hall in some pig skin for pay dirt.  What do you think about one of the leagues best defensive players transitioning to offense?  Let us know on Twitter! @DownandDistance Sports-Kings Down and Distance Contributor Austin Peat  @PistolPeat187   The post Texans’ J.J. Watt wants in on offense appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE - Presented by Sports-Kings.
