Texas and Texas A&M have one of the more storied rivalries in college football history. The two have met 118 times over the years, but due to the Aggies' recent move from the Big 12 to the SEC, it may be awhile before they meet again.Furthermore, the next meeting between the two football-crazed schools will allegedly come on the Longhorns watch. From The Daily Texan:"They left," Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said of A&M. "They're the ones that decided not to play us. We get to decide when we play again. I think that's fair. "If you did a survey of our fans about playing A&M, they don't want to. It's overwhelming. I know. I hear it. Our fans are important to us. I think there's got to be a period where things get different. I think there's too many hard feelings."Texas is notably angry that A&M bolted the Big 12 in favor of greener pastures in the SEC.Meanwhile, A&M claims they remain open to keeping the rivalry intact by playing each other in non-conference play.Neither school appears to be backing down. The Longhorns and the Aggies last met in 2011, with Texas edging out A&M by a tally of 27-25, thanks to a game-winning field goal as timed expired.Despite the rift between them, Dodds seems confident that they will meet on the gridiron again at some point in the future.“I think we'll play sometime,” Dodds said. “I don't know when it will happen or how it will happen, but I'm sure it will happen.”Texas leads the all-time series, 37-76-5.Via USA TODAY
