According to multiple reports, Julio Lugo will be either traded or designated for assignment before Friday's game. It will likely be the latter because nobody wants Lugo. I'd prefer the Red Sox to have traded Lugo so that Boston could get something in return (probably nothing more than a Pepsi and a slice of pizza...from the Nationals) instead of just removing him from the 40-man roster. But, as I was told by my uncle a few days ago, NOBODY WANTS LUGO!!!!!!!! It's terrible because Lugo was so good with Houston and Tampa Bay. Then he signed that gigantic contract with the Red Sox, and it all went downhill from there. Lugo is hitting .284 this season, but with shortstop of the future Jed Lowrie returning from injury and non-roster spring training invitee Nick Green tearing up the field this season, there was just no room for Lugo anymore. I'd rather have the light-hitting, and clutch, Green as a defensive dynamo than the light-hitting and terrible-fieldi...
