The St Louis Cardinals begin The World Series against The Red Sox on Wednesday. They are the third and last team The Cards have to face in the postseason, regardless of the outcome. The Pirates were a very dissimilar team from The Cards. They were made up of mostly veterans playing over their heads and a few younger, more electric players. The Dodgers were also a very dissimilar team in the sense they were made up mostly of big contracted players they acquired in trades from other teams, along with a few free agents they signed on their own.
The Red Sox, however, are a very similar team to The Cards. They in many ways have the same strengths and weaknesses as The Cardinals. The similarities include:
