PLAYERS: Brad Haddin
TEAMS: Chicago Cubs
During a recent Cricket match, Brad Haddin blasted a six into the crowd and a spectator came down with one of the best grabs we have seen, especially considering he was carrying an iced coffee and two hamburgers. The spectator is a 16-year old named Peter Spurling who according to the Herald Sun is already being recruited heavily while he plays for his AIS AFL Academy. The catch was pretty spectacular as he moved all his concessions to his right hand and snagged the ball out of the air with his left. The fans around him also appreciated the effort and he was greeted with cheers and high five’s as he walked back to his seat. [The Big Lead] Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Deciphering the “Cubs Way”: Replacing the house of cards with a house of bricks

Here’s the deal.  We know that prospects are important in baseball.  We know that one of the primary methods of acquiring these prospects is through the amateur draft, and that the guys who are picked early are usually the most likely to succeed in the major leagues, which intuitively makes sense. We know that a team is more likely to succeed in the regular season and make the...

I had to jump on this story as soon as I saw it.  I can only imagine the looks on people’s faces when they read this.  Via a tweet from Crossing Broad, and doing some research of my own on the company’s website, former Chicago Cubs slugger, and ambassador of baseball’s steroid error, Sammy Sosa is the CEO and investor of a company that distributes needle-free injection systems...

Deciphering the “Cubs Way”: Using the best materials and craftsmanship to build the house

Cricket Fan Makes Crazy Catch in the Crowd While Holding a Coffee and Food (Video)

Peter Spurling is a 16-year-old Australian Football prospect.  He didn't make the news for Football though.  He was seen at a a cricket match between Australia and Sir Lanka making a nice grab in the crowd.  Spurling made a leaping "one-handed catch in the crowd off a towering Brad Haddin six, sparking a mega cheer and high-fives aplenty in the stands."  Love...

Handsome Cricket fan makes spectacular one-handed grab, doesn’t drop food (VIDEO)

Cricket highlights are few and far between on this site, mainly because a) I don’t understand Cricket all that much, and b) TV access to games is very, very limited.  That being said, I’m not above featuring a Cricket post on this here blog, especially when the story basically writes itself. Since it’s summer in the land Down Under, the Cricket season is in full effect. ...
