This weekend, the Falcons play a game that virtually is unimportant…that is at least how the media is handling the week 17 matchup between the Falcons and the Bucs. I believe that it is important that our “healthy” starters play to win this Sunday. The Falcons have the wildcard week to rest up; I do not want to see a team in January that looks lost or unprepared. Come into the playoffs with steam. I know that most fans would rather see healthy players in two weeks, but I’m tired of healthy players coming off a bye with poor results. I vote we finish the drill on Sunday, come into the playoffs with a victory and confidence. This is the best team in the NFL, do not let the media undermine it. 13-2 is a fantastic record, only elite teams can reach this type of success, playoff woes aside. I expect to see results this year, and I believe it begins with week 17. The NFL Pro Bowl… What is up with the NFL Pro Bowl? Nobody cares to watch that game… Is it even a game? No. It’s a glorified walkthrough, it’s pathetic to watch and even worse for the players to show up to. This year the Falcons gained 3 Probowlers, while a few were snubbed. -Julio Jones is where he belongs. He is a future superstar at wideout and I am happy to see the fans noticing him. -Tony Gonzalez is the definition of all-pro, but he is tired of having to play in the game… He much rather have his alternate play while he preps for Superbowl Sunday. - Matt Ryan was on track for a MVP type season but fell short of that goal after the Arizona game, he continued to have his best season as a Falcon and deserved his nomination. But where the hell is Sean Weatherspoon, William Moore, and Thomas Decoud? Spoon obviously lost his chance after missing a month, but the Pro Bowl seems to only take 3-4 outside linebackers… He will never have the stats of an Aldon Smith or Demarcus Ware because they are essentially rushing the qb every down. I think they Pro Bowl should redefine the defensive players…the game is changing rapidly around them… William Moore and Thomas Decoud had outstanding seasons in the secondary…simply outstanding. If anyone should be upset it is Decoud. He is the best free safety in the NFC this year. Stats don’t lie. Oh well, my game prediction is Atlanta winning 27-9. Tampa Bay is just not able to beat NFC South teams, until they begin to show they can, I refuse to give them a chance.
