New York Jets
San Francisco 49ers
As a Jets fan, I can only imagine the magic, turbulent carpet ride it’s been this year. Start the year 1-0 with a nail-biter against the Bucs, then turn around and lose a similarly close game to the Pats. Follow that up with what looked like maybe a statement game against the Bills only to get trounced by the Titans in week 4. Maybe New York is just gonna have to kick back and enjoy this roller coaster ride. Either way, Geno Smith will be the person getting you set up. Are you buckled in? Is the bar secure? Ok, go! Geno finished the night with 199 passing yards for 3 TDs, and a win to go with zero INTs. The interceptions have been the biggest bugaboo so far with Geno as he came into the night with 8 INT but tonight he looked very comfortable in the pocket and was able to make his quick reads and get the ball out fast. He still needs to work on his general pocket awareness but given the Falcons’ general defensive rush problems, he didn’t have to worry about that as much ton...
BEST OF MAXIM
New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez had season-ending surgery on his right shoulder on Tuesday and as a result his time with the team is likely over. Dr. James Andrews performed the procedure to repair a torn labrum Sanchez suffered during the team’s third preseason game. Andrews and other doctors advised Sanchez to undergo surgery after he underwent seven weeks of rehabilitation...
According to Josh Alper of Profootballtalk.com, New York Jets QB Geno Smith has been named AFC offensive player of the week.
Alright ladies and gents, the New York Jets are back on prime time and thank God it’s on the road. The Monday night kick-off pushed things back a little bit but we’re still giving you everything you need to know about tonight’s match-up against “Matty Ice” and the Falcons.

I am quick to bash the Jets whenever the opportunity arises. What can I say--they make it easy sometimes. At the same time I will give credit where credit is due. On Monday night Geno Smith played a very good game.
But is he a star?
Come folks. Let's be real here. The man has been playing professional football for five games. In those...
It's hard for me to even say it (type it). It's even harder to think it. I can't imagine that it might be true (key word--might). But it might be true.
Could the New York Jets be good?
Yes, I know, I have been quick to bash these guys in the past. Heck, that circus atmosphere deserved it. I have also said I have hope for these guys if they...
Quarterback Mark Sanchez has undergone surgery on his injured right shoulder today.
The surgery which will end Sanchez's season was performed by Dr. James Andrews whom Sanchez has consulted over the past weeks.
"After over seven weeks of hard work and intense rehab I've been advised by Dr. Andrews and other doctors that my shoulder injury clearly needs to be addressed...
This game was not one that too many folks had circled on their calendars as a much watch game. The Jets are still a circus and the Falcons should be able to pass for days on them. This game was not going to be entertaining. It was going to be boring. It was going to--well, suck.
And I am sure glad I watched it.
This game went nothing like it...
The Jets shocked everyone west of Jersey City and east of Hoboken Monday night pulling out a victory over the Atlanta Falcons. If the Jets won, why is Jets tight end Kellen Winslow frustrated? As Mike Florio of NBCSports tells us, Winslow is frustrated at his lack playing time. The Jets won and Winslow made a nice catch for a touchdown. I repeat, the Jets won and Winslow made...
Geno Smith threw two touchdown passes and New York's defense
came up with a couple of big plays, helping the Jets to a 20-14
lead against the Atlanta Falcons through three quarters on Monday
Mike Tannenbaum doesn't spend his days inside the Jets' training facility anymore. That doesn't mean he doesn't intently follow the most polarizing team in the league.
The Jets are off to notable 3-2 start, as the man who held the position of general manager for seven seasons travels another career path.
Tannenbaum represents coaches, front office personnel and...
Publisher Nick St. Denis, associate editor Dan Begnoche and senior contributor Sean Donovan pick the New York Jets' Monday night showdown with the Atlanta Falcons.Nick's take: Against a somewhat unstable offensive line, the Jets’ stout defensive front will get some shots at Matt Ryan. The real challenge will be keeping the star trio of Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White and...
Geno Smith's Monday night performance not only won over critics and headline writers it also earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 5.
Smith completed 16 of 20 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns but it was his poise down the stretch leading the New York Jets to a 30-28 last-second victory over the Atlanta Falcons that most likely earned him the...
To borrow one of my favorite Suzyn Waldman-isms, “of all the dramatic things,” (and no, Roger Clemens is not in George Steinbrenner’s box) the New York Jets are now sitting at 3-2 by virtue of a heart-pounding road win against Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons, in front of the nation, after most people wrote them off before the season even started. I have to be honest, I...
Atlanta wideout Julio Jones, who was spotted limping out of the x-ray room after Monday night's loss to the New York Jets, might be sidelined for the remainder of the season, according to Jay Glazer.Fantasy Spin:Jones had eight catches for 99 yards, but couldn't score. If Jones is out for the season, Harry Douglas' stock should take a huge jump.
The New York Jets improved to 3-2 with a dramatic, late game win over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
