Photo by Yvonne Leonard Friday night was the first of two nights of racing action for the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. Donny Schatz has had an up and down year which prevented him from claiming another series title but he is on an up swing as the season comes to an end. He started Friday night off by winning his heat race, then winning the Dash before he capped off the trifecta by taking the 30 lap feature. Schatz beat Sammy Swindell to the finish line to claim his fifth career victory at the 4/10 mile oval. Jason Meyers, the 2011 series champion was able to outpace Craig Dollansky who turned up the wick at the end of the night to come home third while Joey Saldana continued his recovery from a devastating wreck earlier this year to round out the top five.
