THIS YEAR'S SCHEDULE.

Posted January 21, 2013

OAKLAND gets the Eagles at home this year. Kansas City comes here.

These games will be loaded with symbolism for me. Almost 100% of what made me a fan of football came from watching these three teams as a young 'un. For that reason more than any other, I hate when they play each other. Even when I want one to win I hate to see the other one lose. (Around here we're pretty much that way about the Steelers as well. STEAGLES!)

There are a few teams I outright hate (Dallas, Washington, New England, Green Bay, New Orleans, Jets, major conflict of interest going as I hate Denver like they've raped me before, but I LOVE Peyton Manning). Most teams however get a shrug from me at best. Predictable emotions about all those regardless of who plays who unless one of my teams needs some help to make the playoffs.

This year was straight vanilla ice cream in a styrofoam cup. Nothing exciting. No surprises. I knew what my emotions would bring me each week. Even the debate were the same.

This year however, football for me is going to be a lot like walking over to Coldstone Creamery. Something different each time I go. Gotta Have It size in a dipped waffle bowl. Variety as the spice of life. My life anyway.

I won't even mind the lines.
