This week on Thursday Night Tailgate it was our tribute to the guys who get none of the credit for wins but a lot of the blame for losses, the Offensive Lineman. We had four great players and TNT alumni return to share their stories about their careers, how their teams are doing now and thoughts about the concussion lawsuit settlement.

Our first guest was former Dolphins and Bengals Pro Bowl Tackle Richmond Webb. Richmond gave us his thoughts on his college coaches at Texas A&M, Jackie Sherrill and R.C. Slocum, A&M's move to the SEC and Johnny Manziel. He also talked about how the fear of being the guy who could be responsible for getting Dan Marino hurt motivated him and going against guys like E.J. Junior, Hugh Green and Jeff Cross in practice made him a better player. He also said players referred to Don Shula as "The Jaw". 

Former Steelers Pro Bowl Left Tackle Marvel Smith heard my pleas to suit up this weekend against the Jets. Come on Marvel, please dust off the #77 and fly to New York, the team needs you. He shared his thoughts on the Steelers current Offensive Line woes, what it was like playing with Pat Tillman and Jeremy Staat at Arizona State, whoh is favorite Steelers Offensive Coordinator was, being a part of two Super Bowl championship teams and retiring as a Steeler.

Former Jets and Dolphins Guard John Bock brought his usual high level of passion to the show. He walked us through the proper technique that offensive lineman should use to pass protect. He also shared his opinion on how parents should view football in the same light as boxing and MMA. He gave us his thoughts on Teddy Bridgewater who is leading his alma mater, the University of Louisville, and how he believes hydration issues play a major role in the number of concussions players get.

Former Saints, Rams and Chiefs Tackle Kyle Turley made his fourth visit with us. We talked about his band’s new CD Skull Shaker and he weighed in on the concussion situation. He talked about the PBS show “League of Denial”, and his disappointment for where things are at regarding the league, society and this issue.

Northeast Sports Columnist Bob Lazzari also made his weekly visit to lend his insights into what’s going on with the Jets, Giants and Patriots.
