TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State freshman linebacker Carlos Mendoza will miss the rest of the season after an MRI revealed a bone chip in his injured left shoulder.
ASU coach Todd Graham told reporters Tuesday the damage was worse than initially expected and will require surgery. Graham said Mendoza will apply for a medical redshirt to preserve a season of eligibility.

One aspect that should not be overlooked in the offensive explosion the Sun Devils have displayed in the first two weeks of the season is the play of ASU’s front five. One player from that group who these days is receiving much praise from ASU’s Head Coach Todd Graham, is Kody Koebensky who talked to Devils Digest’s about his play thus far and the challenge that awaits the team at Missouri .
