Jocks and Stiletto Jill:
In a secret hearing, the divorce between San Antonio Spurs star Tim Duncan and his now ex-wife Amy has been finalized. The hearing was held during Judge David A. Canales lunch hour at the offices of Tim Duncan’s lawyer’s office. It also wasn’t placed on the public docket because both parties had “paparazzi” concerns.
Really, let me find out San Antonio is like West Hollywood with tons of paps and TMZ cameras.
A breakdown on division of assests and child custody has not been released but there was a document during the proceedings that requested an alleged trainer and business partner of Amy Duncan, Gilbert R. Urbano Jr. be barred from being “around the children at any time or at any place, including permitting him to be in the same house or work establishment or school or social function as the children, whether the children are asleep or awake.”
Tim hired a private investigator to check up on Amy’s relationship with Urbano whom she recently opened a Crossfit training facility together.
While Tim allegedly had concerns that Amy was hitting her downward dog with the trainer, there were also rumors that Amy had her own infidelity concerns with Tim. The rumors alleged that TD was having an affair with one of his best friends from college – a man- who he lived with during his time at Wake Forrest, plus his first four years in the NBA and after he and Amy married for two years before Tim finally purchased a condo near Amy and Tim’s home.
BEST OF MAXIM
Remember when the news broke during the NBA playoffs last season that San Antonio Spurs superstar Tim Duncan and his wife Amy were getting divorced? Well--it has finally happened.
The end was no surprise since it made national news that Tim had asked the judge to delay the proceedings till after the post season so he could concentrate on his game without any distractions...
San Antonio Spurs forward/center Matt Bonner doesn't get many as opportunities to be in a television commercial as other NBA players. That means when an offer comes Bonner's way, he's probably not going to pass on the chance to make some extra cash, even if he makes himself look a bit silly in the process.
Case in point: Bonner has the starring role in a rap video...
Tracy McGrady is returning some love to Kobe Bryant.
On the heels of Bryant saying that McGrady was the toughest player in the NBA for him to guard, McGrady returned the favor while speaking to TMZ reporters at LAX.
“It’s Kobe, all day…. Absolutely, ain’t nobody close.”
Before folks get into an uproar, the great McGrady didn’t have to opportunity to play against Michael...
Kobe Bryant recently made an interesting offhand comment when he said that Tracy McGrady was the toughest player he’s ever had to guard. Well, it appears that the feeling is mutual.
McGrady first came into the NBA all the way back in 1997, which was the last of Michael Jordan‘s championship seasons with the Chicago Bulls. So, McGrady certainly should know a thing or two about...
According to French site FFBB.com, San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker was hit above his right knee during a practice session with Team France and will sit out the team's next exhibition game versus Spain.
The injury is reported to be not serious and Parker is being held out of the game against Spain only as a precaution. He should be ready to go for the French squad at the...
Manu Ginobili decided to postpone retirement and re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs this offseason.
"By the end of the season — and I mean the regular season and not the playoffs — I thought about it a lot," said Ginobili of retirement. "I was so tired of it. I hadn’t suffered a muscle strain in my whole life and I went through three in four months. I felt negative...
Last week, Kobe Bryant revealed that Tracy McGrady is the toughest guy he’s ever played – it appears that the feeling is mutual.
TMZ caught up with McGrady and told him about Bryant’s comments. T-Mac said, “that’s my dude” and then listed the Black Mamba as his own toughest opponent:

Not often are you going to see an NBA player in a commercial, eating baby carrots, while his name is rapped in a video promoting a new healthy snack. Seems like the ShakeDowns marketing group does a great job thinking outside of the box to get you to remember their commercials. Hopefully they didn’t pay the Spurs’ Matt Bonner too much for this since he didn’t do anything.
If you’re a white guy with red hair in the NBA, you’d better have a decent sense of humor if you want to market yourself. Brian Scalabrine did and he became something of legends, and Spurs big man Matt Bonner – aka the “Red Mamba” – does as well.
Watch Bonner try to sell you baby carrots using some thuggin’ beats and a crew that includes a black belt-wearing Jason Mraz...
Between off season workouts, regular season games and playoff games the NBA can be a long grind especially when you’re 35 years old like San Antonio Spurs Manu Ginobili. Ginobili had an interview with La Nacion, an Argentinean publication, (go to Pounding the Rock for translated version) and talked about how broken down he was by the end of the season. So much so that he thought...
After having lost three straight games in three straight days, San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli and the Italian National team used their three days of rest to regroup as they ended their losing streak Thursday with an 89-73 victory over Montenegro in Koper, Slovenia.

The San Antonio Spurs' training camp is still months away but it doesn't mean the front office and coaching staff are not diligently working out players in the hopes of adding some help to get the team back to the NBA Finals.
According to Real GM.com, the Spurs, among other teams, are set to work out free agent forward James Johnson.
Johnson played a complete season...
Roy Hibbert of the Indiana Pacers was in town to work out with Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs this week.
This marks the second offseason in a row that Hibbert has sought out the expertise of the all-time great. Hibbert recently posted a photo of himself with Duncan, Tiago Splitter, Ian Mahinmi, and Jesse James Leija. The photo was taken after a boxing workout and Hibbert’s...
