The Lyoness Open, played in Atzenbrugg, Austria, is this week's stop on the European PGA Tour. This event was first played in 1990, with Germany's Bernhard Langer claiming the inaugural championship. Since then, this tournament has continued to grow and become an integral force in growing the game in Austria. In 2010, the event moved to the Diamond Country Club course where it continues to be played. In 2006, Austrian Markus Brier, won this event becoming the first Austrian to ever win a European Tour event, let alone his home Open on his home course. This year, Austria's top ranked player, Bernd Wiesberger (97th) hopes to become the second Austrian to win this event. With more top players competing at the Lyoness Open than ever before, Wiesberger will have his work cut out for him.
