Trade deadline passes with no late deals

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. | The non-waiver trading deadline passed Friday afternoon with the Royals standing pat beyond Thursday's move to acquire outfielder Josh Anderson from Detroit for cash. Several clubs — including the Brewers, Marlins and Yankees — made at late push to acquire right-hander Brian Bannister, but none came close to matching the Royals' believed asking price of two young pitchers, including one ready-now prospect.
