From the creator of Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh’s brillant novel Filth is adapted by director Jon S. Baird starring James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class, Wanted), Jamie Bell (Jumper, King Kong), Eddie Marsan (The World’s End, Sherlock Holmes), and Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, V for Vendetta).
The story is centered around bipolar junkie cop Bruce Robertson who has made a frequent habit of drug and alcohol abuse in his upward climb towards a promotion. During this chaotic time in his life he must also attempt to win back his wife and daughter in the process. Scotland is truly once again turned into the the dark corner of the world as it was in the fantastic film Trainspotting. But in this gloomy place we find a hardened spirit with a sick and twisted outlook on life, which creates a powerful story worthy of a film adaptation. With McAvoy taking on the starring role, this one will be special. Filth comes out on October 4th in the UK.
