Found May 13, 2013 on The Nosebleeds:
Things got a bit testy towards the ends of the second period in the Bruins-Leafs Game 7 in Boston, with both teams getting in each others’ faces. Tuukka Rask didn’t take too kindly to Joffrey Lupul intruding into his personal space and decided to let that be known via a nice blocker sandwich right to the grillmix. Zdeno Chara provided the desert with a glove to the face of his own. I’m guess Lupul isn’t going to come back for seconds.

Joffrey Lupul: Game 7 loss ‘will haunt me until the day I die’

Joffrey Lupul does not tweet very often. He has tweeted just over 1,100 times, and he hadn’t tweeted since April 23. The playoffs began on April 30. Lupul finally broke his three-week Twitter silence by sending this emotionally-charged message on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after his Toronto Maple Leafs blew a 4-1 3rd-period lead in Game 7 against the Boston Bruins: That hockey...

Tuukka Rask Happy to Play Hero Instead of Expletive-Filled Alternative After Game 7 Win

BOSTON — Tuukka Rask was one of a handful of heroes on Monday in the Bruins’ Game 7 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. It sure beats the alternative. Rask made the big saves at the right time in Boston’s 5-4 come-from-behind overtime winner, and because of it, they’re moving onto the second round. But it didn’t come without some tense moments, and feelings of doubt. Those...

Joffrey Lupul Says Game 7 Loss to Bruins Will ‘Haunt Me Until the Day I Die’

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul had himself a solid first-round series against the Bruins. He scored three goals and added an assist, but it wasn’t quite enough as the B’s won Game 7 in overtime. The forward was held pointless in the deciding game, a game in which the Leafs blew a 3-1 third-period lead. Lupul had a chance to change the nature of the game, but he was...

Scouting Tuukka Rask

Tuuuuukkkkkkkaaaaaa After dispatching a tough Washington Capitals team in the first round, the Rangers have been rewarded with the Boston Bruins as their next opponent.  Boston is coming off a somewhat improbable victory over an upstart Maple Leafs squad who is trending in the right direction.  Opposing The King in this series will be former Maple Leaf, Tuukka Rask. Rask is a former...

Tuukka Rask’s Stellar Save on Matt Frattin Breakaway Proves Crucial in Comeback Win (Video)

Tuukka Rask played the hero in Monday night’s Game 7 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins goalie made 24 saves in the 5-4 overtime win, and one in a crucial moment that changed the momentum of the game. The Maple Leafs blew a 4-1 lead in the final minutes and the B’s were able to come out on top, in part, thanks to Rask’s strong play in front of the net. Check out the...

Pressure On The Bruins

Bruins Vs Maple Leafs: Keys To Game 6

Toronto -- The Bruins vs Maple Leafs series has been extended to game 6 after the Bruins played a very disappointing game 5.The Bruins lost to the Maple Leafs 2-1 on Friday night in one of the most disappointing showings all season. It seemed as if no one showed up for the game mentally except Tuukka Rask. The Bruins were only kept in the game because of Rask and luck. Toronto had...

Too Little Too Late. Yet Again. BRUINS LOSE.

Dammit Bruins. What the HELL happened to you? What happened to the team with heart and desire? What happened to the team that gave their all? What happened to the team that gave EVERYTHING on the ice no matter what? Did that team get replaced during the lockout? The Bruins have been absolutely DISGUSTING this series. If the Bruins had someone like Fleury instead of Rask they...

Bruins score 2 with goalie pulled, advance in OT by   David Carr

On February 12, with the visiting New York Rangers leading 3-1 late in the third period, the Bruins pulled Tuukka Rask for the extra attacker. They proceeded to score two goals in the last 1:31 with the goalie pulled to tie the game at three, in what was a stunning comeback. While they ultimately fell [...]

Kick the Toronto Maple Leafs when they're down

That is what a lot of folks did in the Twitterverse. Here is a sampling of the conversation: Howard Bryant, ESPN.com: “ ‘The Toronto Maple Leafs, unless they suffer a colossal collapse, are going to eliminate the Bruins.’ -- Jack Edwards, 14:10 left 3rd period.”Gerry Callahan, WEEI radio: “How do you line & shake hands if you're Leafs? You just completed one of...

Cheer up, Leafs: You can recover

The Toronto Maple Leafs are understandably crushed after choking away Game 7 of their first-round series with Boston on Monday night, giving up a two-goal lead to the Bruins in the final 90 seconds of regulation before losing in overtime. Really, this post Tuesday from Toronto forward Joffrey Lupul's Twitter account says it all: That hockey game will haunt me until the day...

Bruins Pull Off Amazing Comeback To Beat Maple Leafs

Wow I remember watching Toronto’s Matt Frattin skate towards Tuukka Rask in the third period on breakaway with the Leafs already up 4-2, and thinking to myself “This ought to do it”. A 2 goal lead with three minutes left to go in regulation is usually enough to win a hockey game, especially when your opponent has simply not played to the best of their abilities. However,...

Boston Bruins game 7 OT vs Toronto win a game for the ages

Wait…what?!?The Boston Bruins have caused cardiac problems all over the Northeast with a thrilling, impossible-dream, never-say-die win in OT in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The B’s were down 4-1 at 9:18 of the third when Nathan Horton started CPR on the Black-and-Gold. Tuukka Rask heads for the bench with 2 minutes remaining...

Bruins Pushed To The Brink By Leafs

A snide comment from Kevin Paul Dupont last week suddenly looks prescient as the Bruins, once up 3-1 in this opening round series, find themselves fighting for their playoff lives tonight in game seven against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bruins have lost wiggle room – Joe McDonald says that the formula for the Bruins is simple, they need more shots, more traffic, more players in front...
